The Manitowoc County Historical Society Museum and Pinecrest Village will host guided lantern tours called "Spirited History" on Friday, October 10. Tours are scheduled for 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the museum, located at 924 Pinecrest Road in Manitowoc.

The event features costumed storytellers who will share ghost stories from the 19th century as well as more recent accounts during a candlelit walking tour of Pinecrest Village. The tour lasts one hour and begins at the McAllister House Welcome Center. Organizers note that the program is intended for participants aged eight and older, with all children required to be accompanied by an adult. The event will proceed rain or shine unless there is severe weather, and pets are not allowed.

Tickets for the tour cost $20 per person, with members receiving a 15% discount. Advance registration is required.

For additional details about "Spirited History" or other programs, interested individuals can contact the Historical Society at (920) 684-4445 or visit ManitowocCountyHistory.org.

The Manitowoc County Historical Society operates a living history museum on a 60-acre site in eastern Wisconsin’s Kettle Moraine region. The facility includes a Welcome Center offering local history exhibits and research services, as well as Pinecrest Historical Village—a collection of over 25 historic buildings furnished to reflect life among early settlers in Manitowoc County.

Pinecrest Historical Village was established in 1970 following a land donation from Hugo and Eleanor Vetting. It now represents a reproduction of a small Wisconsin community from the early twentieth century, with buildings that form the commercial, social, and political center of town life. Furnishings within these structures are either original pieces or carefully researched reproductions reflecting Wisconsin’s architectural history.
