The Manitowoc County Historical Society and A&W in Manitowoc are collaborating to support local history education through a Share Night fundraiser. The event will take place on Wednesday, September 24, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the A&W location on Harbor Town Lane.
“We are so appreciative of our local restaurants and their efforts to help us raise funds to support our mission to preserve and share our local history,” said Amy Meyer, Manitowoc County Historical Society Executive Director.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the Manitowoc County Historical Society's operations and educational initiatives. The organization is a private non-profit that relies entirely on membership dues, tours, fundraising events, and donations for its funding.
The Manitowoc County Historical Society operates Pinecrest Historical Village, a living history museum located in eastern Wisconsin’s Kettle Moraine region. The site includes a Welcome Center with exhibits and research services as well as an outdoor village made up of more than 25 historic buildings furnished to reflect the county’s early settlement period. Pinecrest Historical Village was established in 1970 following a land donation from the Hugo and Eleanor Vetting family. The village aims to represent a small Wisconsin community from the early 1900s, featuring buildings that reflect various architectural styles found throughout Wisconsin’s history.
