Lakeshore College has announced that Stephanie Mireles, a digital marketing student, will serve as the institution’s 2025-26 Wisconsin Technical College System Student Ambassador. Mireles was chosen for the role, which includes promoting Lakeshore at campus events, in the community, and at state-level technical college system gatherings. The ambassador position comes with a $1,250 scholarship and is described by the college as one of its most competitive leadership opportunities.

Mireles currently leads the Student Leadership Board and participates in TRIO Support Services, which supports first-generation, lower-income, and disabled students. She also works in the StudentSHARE office, helping provide students with free food, clothing, and personal care items.

“We are incredibly proud of Stephanie for being selected as Lakeshore’s 2025-26 Student Ambassador. This honor recognizes not only her leadership and dedication to learning, but also the vital role our students play in representing Lakeshore’s mission on campus, in the community, and across Wisconsin,” said Lakeshore President Dr. Paul Carlsen.

Lakeshore College enrolls more than 9,000 students annually and offers both career training and transfer opportunities toward bachelor’s degrees. The college reports that about 800 students graduate each year; associate degree graduates earn a median salary of $61,355 within six months after graduation. In addition to its main Cleveland campus, Lakeshore operates sites in Manitowoc and Sheboygan.

The college has received several national recognitions: it was ranked #2 among two-year colleges by Washington Monthly, #17 by Forbes nationally, #2 statewide by WalletHub.com, named a top-150 two-year college by the Aspen Institute, won a 2024 Bellwether Award, and was recognized as Large Business/Industry of the Year by the Chamber of Manitowoc County in 2021.
