Lakeshore College has been named the second-best two-year college in Wisconsin and ranked 26th nationally by WalletHub, a personal finance company. The rankings evaluated 653 member colleges of the American Association of Community Colleges using 18 metrics related to cost, financing, education outcomes, and career outcomes.

“These rankings are a direct reflection of our college’s commitment to our mission, our students, our colleagues, and our communities. They recognize the quality, value, and impact a Lakeshore College education offers,” said Lakeshore President Dr. Paul Carlsen.

Lakeshore College educates more than 9,000 students annually across its main campus in Cleveland and additional locations in Manitowoc and Sheboygan. Students enroll for both career skills training and as a starting point toward bachelor’s degrees. Faculty and staff aim to provide individualized learning experiences.

The college has received national recognition from several organizations. It was previously ranked second in the nation by Washington Monthly, seventeenth by Forbes, placed among the top 150 two-year colleges by the Aspen Institute, won a Bellwether Award in 2024, and was named Large Business/Industry of the Year in 2021 by The Chamber of Manitowoc County.

Each year about 800 students graduate from Lakeshore College. Associate degree graduates report earning a median salary of $61,355 within six months after graduation.
