The 37th Annual Lakeshore Holiday Parade is scheduled to take place in downtown Manitowoc on Wednesday, November 26 at 6:30 p.m., marking the start of the holiday season. Registration for parade entries is now open, with space available for up to 80 participants. Those interested can register by completing an online form at www.visitmanitowoc.com/lhp.

The parade will feature decorated floats, marching bands, trucks, and walkers traveling east from S 14th Street and Washington Street to S 8th Street, then heading north to Park Street. Entries will be judged, and winners announced publicly with trophies presented at the December Common Council meeting.

A Sensory Sensitive Zone will be established from S 14th Street to S 12th Street along Washington Street. In this section of the route, there will be no flashing lights, loud music, or sirens in order to accommodate individuals sensitive to noise and light.

Spectators are invited to watch the parade along any part of the route. For those unable to attend in person, WOMT Radio (1240 AM / 107.9 FM) will provide a live broadcast, and a Facebook Live stream will be available via the City of Manitowoc’s Facebook page.

Prior to the parade, a Santa Reception is set for the Rahr-West Art Museum from 4:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., continuing after the event as well. Children can meet Santa Claus, enjoy treats, and view Christmas displays at no cost. The Visit Manitowoc Visitor Information Center at 824 S 8th Street will offer hot chocolate, cookies, and giveaways before and during the parade.

Community sponsors support this annual event. Those wishing to sponsor or volunteer may contact Courtney Hansen, Director of Tourism for Visit Manitowoc, by email at chansen@manitowoc.org or phone at (920) 686-3505.
