The Manitowoc County Historical Society and the Mid-Lakes Rustic Iron Club will host the Mid-Lakes Agricultural Fair and Thresheree on September 6 and 7. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at the Manitowoc County Historical Society Museum and Pinecrest Village, located at 924 Pinecrest Road in Manitowoc.
Visitors can participate in antique farming demonstrations, hands-on activities, and see county fair exhibits inside historic buildings of Pinecrest Village. Each day features a parade through the village at noon, with additional programs scheduled throughout the weekend. On Sunday, FFA and 4H participants will receive free admission.
The Two Creeks Town Hall will serve as an Exhibition Hall where both Pinecrest Village residents and members of the public are invited to display items such as beans, flower arrangements, pies, needlework, and other creations.
Tram service is available for guests who need assistance moving around the grounds. Food and beverages will be sold on site.
Admission prices are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, $10 for youth ages 4-17, while children under four enter free. Members of the historical society receive free general admission. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or ahead of time.
Sponsors for this year’s event include Country Visions, CP Feeds LLC, Dramm Corporation, Seehafer News, and Skana Aluminum. Further details about schedules and activities are available at ManitowocCountyHistory.org or by calling (920) 684-4445.
According to organizers: “Fairs are an exciting time for any agricultural community throughout history, and residents couldn’t wait to show off their best work and harvest! Visit activities in the historic structures of Pinecrest Village, see historic equipment demonstrations, and join the threshing crew.”
The Manitowoc County Historical Society operates a living history museum that covers sixty acres in eastern Wisconsin’s Kettle Moraine region. The outdoor Pinecrest Historical Village features more than twenty-five historic buildings furnished with period pieces or reproductions representing early twentieth-century life in Wisconsin communities.
