Gerardo Mercado has been appointed as the new Fox CU-Thrive Program Manager at Fox Communities Credit Union. In this role, Mercado will focus on building partnerships with local businesses and community organizations to promote financial wellness and introduce banking rewards. The aim of the program is to provide financial education and help individuals reduce financial stress.

Mercado previously worked as a Business Line Sales Training Coach at Associated Bank, where he supported bankers and managers in retail business products and sales processes. He holds both a Master of Science in Management and a Bachelor of Arts from UW-Green Bay.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Fox Communities Credit Union and to serve our mission and values through the Fox CU-Thrive program. As we launch this initiative, my goal is to bring Fox directly into workplaces and our communities-supporting business organizations, empowering individuals, and helping our members achieve greater financial freedom. I look forward to working closely with our team members to ensure the program’s success and most importantly for the positive community impact we’ll achieve together,” says Mercado.

Fox Communities Credit Union serves over 130,000 members at 22 locations. The credit union employs more than 480 staff members and manages assets exceeding $3 billion. It operates as a member-owned institution that emphasizes service over profit. In recent years, Fox Communities Credit Union has received recognition for its workplace culture and community involvement, including being named a Gold-Certified Fox Cities Employee Friendly Workplace, earning the Green Bay Chamber’s Next Generation Best Place to Work award in 2024, and being recognized as Community Partner of the Year by Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity.
