Manitowoc Public Library has announced a series of adult events scheduled for August 2025, offering a range of activities and services for the community.

The ManitoWalk: Historic Downtown Walking Tour will take place on Monday, August 4, from 10 to 11:30 AM. Participants will join library staff to explore historic buildings along 8th Street in Downtown Manitowoc. The tour begins outside the library by the flagpole, and those interested are encouraged to arrive ten minutes early. The event is open to adults aged 18 and older, with limited space available. Registration details can be found at www.manitowoclibrary.org/event/manitowalk-historic-downtown-walking-tour-21826. Organizers note that participants should be prepared for over an hour of walking and standing. In case of bad weather, the event will be canceled.

Throughout August, Department of Workforce Development (DWD) staff will provide employment assistance and career counseling every Tuesday from 9 AM to 4 PM in the library’s Franklin Street Room. Services include resume writing help, online application support, and registration assistance for Job Center of Wisconsin. No appointment is necessary for drop-in employment assistance. Licensed career counselors are also available to assist with job loss or career changes by providing individualized plans and resources; appointments can be made by contacting Ellen Hope at 920-930-6553 or ellen.hope@dwd.wisconsin.gov. More information about dates and hours is available at www.manitowoclibrary.org/events/month/2025/08?keywords=DWD.
