The Manitowoc County Historical Society is set to host the Hometown History Expo on Saturday, August 9, from 10 am to 4 pm. The event will take place at the society's Museum and Pinecrest Village located at 924 Pinecrest Road in Manitowoc. The expo aims to engage visitors with local history through interaction with small museums, town historians, historical societies, and genealogy groups.

Included in the general museum admission, attendees can participate in workshops and learn about various historical topics. The workshops include "Research 101" from 11:00 to 11:30 am, "Preserving Family Treasures" from 12:45 to 1:15 pm, and "Storing, Archiving, and Exhibiting on a Tight Budget" from 2:30 to 3:00 pm.

Visitors are encouraged to explore the exhibits at the McAllister House Welcome Center and the historic structures of Pinecrest Village. Admission fees are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors, $10 for youth aged 4-17, while children under four enter free. Members enjoy free admission.

For further details on the expo or other events by the Manitowoc County Historical Society, interested parties can call (920) 684-4445 or visit their website at ManitowocCountyHistory.org.

The Manitowoc County Historical Society is situated in Eastern Wisconsin's Ice Age Kettle Moraine countryside.
