Lakeshore College welcomes new trustees and elects officers

Lakeshore College in Cleveland, Wisconsin, has reappointed Monica Nichter to its District Board of Trustees. Alongside newly appointed board members Abbey Quistorf and Mary Parrish, Nichter was sworn in during the board’s organizational meeting on July 14. The officers elected for the upcoming term are Nichter as chair, Kim Rooney as vice chair, and Don Pohlman as secretary/treasurer.

The board consists of nine members representing different sectors: two employer members, two employee members, three additional members, one elected official member holding a state or local office, and one school district administrator. Each year, three members are appointed by a committee comprising county board chairs from Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Calumet, and Ozaukee counties. The terms for the recently sworn-in members will end on June 30, 2028.

Monica Nichter brings extensive experience from her healthcare career prior to retiring as executive director at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial in 2021. She holds both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

Mary Parrish serves as an executive administrative assistant at the Sheboygan County Historical Research Center. Her duties include graphic design, marketing, research, donor management among others. She previously co-owned Kvindlog Services Inc., with her husband Jim for 15 years.

Abbey Quistorf is the executive director of the Chamber of Manitowoc County since 2008 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She also serves various roles including an ex-officio board member for Progress Lakeshore and co-director of the Miss Harbor Cities Scholarship Organization.

Lakeshore College is a comprehensive community college educating over 9,000 students annually across multiple campuses. The college emphasizes real-world skills preparation and provides individualized learning experiences for students pursuing bachelor’s degrees or career-oriented education paths.
