The Manitowoc County Historical Society has announced a series of events for July 2025 at its Museum and Pinecrest Village, located at 924 Pinecrest Road in Manitowoc. These events aim to engage the community with history through interactive experiences.
Every Thursday in July, children aged 12 and under can visit the museum free of charge as part of "Kids Free Days." The initiative encourages families to explore historical themes each week with hands-on activities from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. General admission fees apply to adults and other children.
On Monday, July 7, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Time Out at 1027 North Rapids Road will host a dine fundraiser. Ten percent of proceeds from dine-in orders during this time will benefit the Manitowoc County Historical Society (MCHS).
Throughout July, several summer camps are scheduled: "Life as a Pioneer" on July 9 and 10, "In the Kitchen" on July 16, and "Makesmith" on July 17. Registration is required for these fee-based programs.
A Blacksmithing Basics workshop is set for Saturday, July 12, from noon to 3 p.m., offering participants an introduction to metalworking by crafting items like an “S” hook or bottle opener. Advanced registration is necessary.
From July 16 through July 19, MCHS members can bring two guests for free during "Share the Museum Week," allowing them to experience the museum's offerings alongside their hosts.
Community Craft Night will occur on Thursday, July 17, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., inviting local artisans to work on their crafts while engaging with others in the community.
Teens interested in blacksmithing can attend a workshop on Thursday, July 24, from noon to 3 p.m., where they will create small projects using historic techniques.
The Mid Summer Meltdown: Hot Rod and Custom Car Show takes place on Saturday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring pre-1966 vehicles and live music by The Dirty Martinis Rockabilly Band. Admission is $10 per person or car.
Also on July 26, a Females at the Forge Workshop offers women-only blacksmithing instruction from noon until 3 p.m., requiring advanced registration and a fee.
Summer Teacher Workshops are planned for Wednesday, July 30, and Thursday, August 7. These free half-day sessions focus on integrating local history into educational curricula; registration is required.
