Manitowoc Public Library has announced its Teen Services programming for July 2025, featuring a variety of events designed to engage the community. The Summer Reading Program continues through August 9, encouraging participants to read for 30 days to earn prizes. Registration is available via the Beanstack App or at any Service Desk.
On July 2, the library invites patrons to "Paint the Library Red, White, & Blue" from 2-3 PM in celebration of Independence Day. Participants can decorate library windows with provided supplies on a first-come, first-served basis. Later that day, from 6-7:30 PM, the Drop-In Chess Club will meet in the Balkansky Community Room.
Award-winning musician Jim Gill will perform a "Sing-Along & Play-Along Concert" on July 9 from 2-3 PM at Burger Boat Park. This event is open to all ages and offers an opportunity for families to enjoy music together.
On July 10, from noon until 3 PM, Sue Koeppe from HeartCorps will provide free blood pressure screenings in the library's Inner Lobby. No registration is required for this health-focused event.
The library's Teen Hang-Out series begins on July 11 with "Take the Mic!" an open mic session from 1-2 PM. Participants are encouraged to showcase their talents with a sound system available if needed.
"Touch the Trucks!" returns on July 16 from 10 AM to noon in the Briess Malting Parking Lot. This popular event allows children and families to explore various trucks up close.
A "3D Printer Badging Session" is scheduled for July 16 from 5:30-7 PM in the Idea Box. Interested individuals must register starting July 7 and be at least 14 years old to participate.
On July 18, teens can join "What the Duck!" from 1-2 PM to create rubber duck cosplay using provided materials. Supplies are limited.
"Tie Dye Tuesday!" takes place on July 22 from 1-3 PM where participants can bring a fabric item to dye using supplied materials.
The month concludes with two creative events: "Teen Hang-Out: On the Table—Ransom Notes!" on July 25 and "Pop Art Collage" on July 30. Both events offer opportunities for artistic expression without prior experience required.
