Opening day for the Miracle League of the Fox Valley, a program run by Goodwill North Central Wisconsin (Goodwill NCW), is set for June 9. The league provides children and teens with disabilities an opportunity to play baseball in a non-competitive environment on a safe and accessible field. This season, over 240 players will participate.

The league's eight-week season begins in June, featuring players aged four to 19 who are paired with community volunteers for support during games. These volunteers include pitchers, umpires, announcers, coaches, and team helpers, totaling more than 340 individuals contributing to the program.

“Goodwill NCW is proud to support the Miracle League season for our players, families and communities,” said Tim Wavrunek, Mission Team Leader of Community Programs at Goodwill NCW. “Miracle League gives children and teens with disabilities the opportunity to build valuable skills they carry forward into their future and be recognized for their abilities rather than the disabilities they live with.”

The league is entering its fifteenth season. Games are scheduled at 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday at John Wollner Fox Cities Miracle Field in Memorial Park, Appleton.

The public is encouraged to attend games as supportive fans throughout the season. The media is invited to cover opening day events at Miracle League of the Chippewa Valley.

Goodwill North Central Wisconsin aims to elevate people by eliminating barriers to employment through skill-building programs that foster sustained employment and financial stability. More details can be found on their website.
