Visit Manitowoc has introduced a free postcard program at its main visitor center located at 824 S 8th Street, Manitowoc. The initiative began earlier this week and is set to continue throughout the summer season, with potential extension based on its success.
The concept originated from a citizen who utilized a similar program elsewhere and sent a postcard to Visit Manitowoc staff. Postcards have been a frequent request from visitors at the center. The initiative aims to encourage visitors to invite family and friends to visit Manitowoc.
Visitors can select from three designs: one featuring a beach scene with Manitowoc's coordinates, another displaying "Greetings from Manitowoc" alongside various attractions, or an image of Wisconsin adorned with colorful icons. After writing their message and addressing it, visitors can place the postcard in a drop box at the visitor center. Visit Manitowoc will handle stamping and mailing.
Courtney Hansen, Director of Tourism, stated, “We’re always looking for new ways to boost the visitor experience in-destination and are excited to offer this program heading into our busiest time of year.” She added that people are "both surprised and delighted" by this free offering which allows them to share their love for Manitowoc.
