Manitowoc Public Library offers diverse programs for adults this June

Manitowoc Public Library is hosting a series of adult events throughout June 2025, offering a variety of activities and workshops for the community.

The month begins with "Seven Steps to Effective Estate Planning" on Monday, June 2, from 6-7:30 PM. Attorney Tracy Gibson will guide participants through estate planning basics, discussing wills, trusts, and more. Gibson frequently presents at local libraries and the UW-Green Bay Lifetime Learning Institute.

On Tuesdays throughout June, the Department of Workforce Development staff will be available for employment assistance in the library's Franklin Street Room from 9 AM to 4 PM. Services include resume writing and help with online applications.

For genealogy enthusiasts, members of the Manitowoc County Genealogical Society will offer assistance every Tuesday from 3-5 PM in MPL’s Manitowoc Collection.

A Drop-In Chess Club is scheduled for Wednesday, June 4, from 6-7:30 PM in the Second Floor Balkansky Community Room. Chessboards are provided; no registration is required.

The Idea Box hosts two technology sessions this month. A "3Doodler Badging Session" on Monday, June 9 (registration opens May 27), and a "Glowforge Badging Session" on Tuesday, June 10 (registration opens June 2).

A Summer Reading Sign-Up event takes place at Cedar Crest Ice Cream on Thursday, June 12, from noon to 2 PM. Participants can enjoy storytime with Miss Betty and receive a coupon for free ice cream.

Movie Nights at the Library returns on Thursday, June 12 at 5:30 PM with a screening of "Captain America: Brave New World."

Other notable events include "Make It at MPL!—Camping Buckets with the Cricut" on Friday, June 13 (registration opens May 30), "Taste of Tae Kwon Do" on Saturday, June 14 (registration required), and Neurographic Art at YMCA on Tuesday, June 17 (for ages 18+).

June concludes with events such as a Judy Blume Book Club meeting on Thursday, June 19; an evening with author Michael Perry also on Thursday; another Glowforge session on Friday, June 20; and learning about Libby app use on Tuesday, June 24.

The Friends of Manitowoc Public Library Used Book Sale will take place from Thursday to Saturday starting June 26 in the Balkansky Community Room. The sale operates under specific hours each day and accepts cash or local checks only.
