Manitowoc Public Library has announced a series of events for teens in June 2025. The programming includes activities designed to engage young minds and foster community involvement.
The Drop-In Chess Club will take place on Wednesday, June 4, from 6-7:30 PM in the Second Floor Balkansky Community Room. Participants can enhance their memory and concentration skills through chess. "The game of chess offers many brainy benefits—and it's just fun!" reads the announcement. All ages are welcome, but children under eight must be accompanied by an adult.
On Monday, June 9, from 6-7 PM, a 3Doodler Badging Session will be held in the Idea Box. MPL staff member Tony will demonstrate how to use 3Doodler Pens that melt plastic filament for creating three-dimensional images. Registration is required for this event.
A Summer Reading Sign-Up event at Cedar Crest Ice Cream is scheduled for Thursday, June 12, from 12-2 PM. Miss Betty will host a Storytime at 1 PM. Early registrants receive a coupon for free ice cream.
Saturday, June 14, brings a Taste of Tae Kwon Do session led by Mark Weber on the Library Lawn from 12-1 PM. The class is open to those six years old and above with registration required.
The Summer Reading Program begins on Monday, June 16 and runs through Saturday, August 9. Participants can earn prizes by reading or being read to over a period of days.
Chef Andrew Dunbar will lead a Teen Hang-Out: Summer Sips! event on Thursday, June 19, from 6-7:30 PM where attendees can create summer drinks with syrups and sparkling water.
Michael Perry, New York Times bestselling author and Wisconsin Public Radio contributor, will share stories at an event on Thursday, June 19 from 6-8 PM at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Manitowoc Campus Theatre.
From Thursday, June 26 to Saturday, June 28, the Friends of Manitowoc Public Library Used Book Sale takes place in the Balkansky Community Room with various operating hours each day.
Finally, Chemical Chaos! featuring UW-Green Bay Chemistry Professor Dr. Amy Kabrhel occurs on Friday, June 27 from 1-2 PM on the Library Lawn with dynamic chemistry demonstrations open to kids and teens.
