For further details about the Manitowoc County Historical Society, individuals can contact (920) 684-4445 or visit their website at ManitowocCountyHistory.org.
The society is located in Eastern Wisconsin's Ice Age Kettle Moraine countryside and serves as a living history museum. It encompasses a Welcome Center with local history exhibits and research services, along with Pinecrest Historical Village—a collection of over 25 historic buildings showcasing period furnishings from early settlers.
Pinecrest Historical Village originated in 1970 following a land donation by the Hugo and Eleanor Vetting family. It has since developed into a representation of a small Wisconsin community from the early 1900s. The buildings reflect various architectural styles significant to Wisconsin's history, while furnishings and tools used by interpreters are either original or well-researched reproductions.
