Individuals interested in careers in nursing or teaching have the opportunity to learn more about the FORWARD program through a series of information sessions scheduled for May and June. This new initiative is a collaboration between Lakeshore College and the University of Wisconsin–Green Bay, designed to allow students to begin their education in these fields this fall while remaining close to home.

The sessions are planned for various dates and locations: May 19 from 6-7 p.m. at UW-Green Bay's Sheboygan Campus, May 21 from 4-5 p.m. at Lakeshore College's Center for Health Care Excellence, June 10 from 9-10 a.m. again at UW-Green Bay's Sheboygan Campus, and June 18 from 6-7 p.m. as a virtual event.

During these sessions, attendees will receive an overview of the FORWARD program, including details on curriculum, learning options, course locations, financial aid opportunities, and tours. Those interested can register and find more information about the program at lakeshoretouwgb.com.

The FORWARD program offers students significant savings by allowing them to start with an associate degree in nursing or foundations of teacher education at Lakeshore before seamlessly transitioning to UW–Green Bay to complete their bachelor's degree in nursing or education. The emphasis on local learning means that all courses will be completed either at UW–Green Bay’s Sheboygan campus, Lakeshore’s Cleveland campus Center for Health Care Excellence, or online.

Lakeshore College provides educational opportunities to over 9,000 students annually with a focus on real-world skills and individualized learning experiences. It has received national recognition as a top two-year college by several organizations including Washington Monthly and Forbes.

UW-Green Bay serves over 11,000 students across four campuses in Northeast Wisconsin offering numerous academic programs since its establishment in 1965. It is noted for fostering bold thinking and addressing significant challenges through education.
