Jasmine Chang, Meredith Putman, and Shanthani Kue are the recipients of UnitedOne Credit Union’s $1,000 scholarships for the 2025-26 academic year.

Chang, a senior at Sheboygan North High School, aims to become a dental hygienist with plans to attend Lakeshore Technical College. She expressed her motivation, saying, “I’ve realized that I’m drawn to fields where I can help others, whether that’s through offering guidance, providing support, or creating positive change in the community.”

Putman, a Roncalli High School senior, will study early childhood education at Marian University. “My dream is to teach at an elementary school with the hopes of giving back to my community through the education of children,” she stated. “My goal is to show love and care to my students just as my teachers did for me.”

Kue, from Manitowoc and currently attending the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, is pursuing a nursing career. Reflecting on her experiences, she said, “Becoming a CNA as a junior in high school was intimidating. Balancing work and school were overwhelming at times, but I learned to adapt, to manage my time, and to push through exhaustion. More importantly, I realized that being a CNA is not about getting tasks done — it is about being there for people when they need it most.”

UnitedOne Credit Union awards three $1,000 scholarships annually to its members. Two scholarships are designated for high school seniors, one from Manitowoc County and the other from Sheboygan County. The third scholarship is for a current college student or working adult pursuing further education. Recipients were selected by an independent panel based on essay submissions.

UnitedOne Credit Union, with branches in Manitowoc and Sheboygan, serves individuals and small to mid-sized businesses in Manitowoc, Sheboygan, Kewaunee, and Door counties. Andrew Pekarek, Marketing Specialist, can provide more information.
