Jasmine Chang, Meredith Putman, and Shanthani Kue have been awarded UnitedOne Credit Union's three $1,000 scholarships for the 2025-26 academic year. These scholarships are intended to support the educational goals of local students and members of the credit union.
Chang, a senior at Sheboygan North High School, aims to become a dental hygienist after attending Lakeshore Technical College. She expressed her motivation by stating: “I’ve realized that I’m drawn to fields where I can help others, whether that’s through offering guidance, providing support, or creating positive change in the community.”
Putman plans to study early childhood education at Marian University after completing her senior year at Roncalli High School in Manitowoc. She shared her aspirations: “My dream is to teach at an elementary school with the hopes of giving back to my community through the education of children. My goal is to show love and care to my students just as my teachers did for me.”
Kue, based in Manitowoc, is currently enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, pursuing a career in nursing. Reflecting on her journey, she said: “Becoming a CNA as a junior in high school was intimidating. Balancing work and school was overwhelming at times, but I learned to adapt, to manage my time, and to push through exhaustion. More importantly, I realized that being a CNA is not about getting tasks done — it is about being there for people when they need it most.”
UnitedOne Credit Union provides these scholarships to its members, with two awarded to high school seniors from Manitowoc and Sheboygan counties and the third to a current college student or a working adult seeking further education. Selections were made by an independent panel that evaluated applicants based on a written essay.
Operating branches in Manitowoc and Sheboygan, UnitedOne Credit Union is accessible to those living or working in Manitowoc, Sheboygan, Kewaunee, and Door counties.
