The Lakeshore Wind Ensemble is preparing to wrap up its season with an event titled "An American Salute: Wisconsin Rhapsody" on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 7:30 pm at the Capitol Civic Centre in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. The concert will pay tribute to Wisconsin and honor veterans with a range of performances.

Jeremiah Eis will conduct the ensemble during the concert. Guest pianist Dr. Justin Krueger, Vice President of the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association, is set to perform George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue," a piece that has recently celebrated its centennial anniversary.

The program will feature works by Wisconsin composers, including pieces from Lakeshore Wind Ensemble's own Brian Van Ells and Gary Audry. Audry's arrangement, which is the title track for the World War II mini-series "Masters of the Air," will be performed alongside its video trailer.

Furthering the tribute to veterans, service songs for each branch of the military will be included in the concert's program. Guest vocalist David Bourgeois, a retired music educator and former vocalist/assistant conductor for the Lakeshore Wind Ensemble and Lakeshore Big Band, will make a return performance. Bourgeois will sing several songs, including "Mansions of the Lord," "As Time Goes By," and "America the Beautiful."

The concert promises to be a "tribute to Wisconsin with LWE conductor Jeremiah Eis at the helm and a favorite lakeshore artist, David Bourgeois."

Tickets can be purchased at the Capitol Civic Centre Box Office in downtown Manitowoc or online at cccshows.org.
