In April, a series of events are scheduled at the Manitowoc County Historical Society, located on 924 Pinecrest Road in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. The events aim to engage the community and raise funds to support the museum's educational programs.

On Thursday, April 10, Cousins Subs in Manitowoc will host a fundraiser for the museum. From 4 to 8 p.m., diners can contribute 20% of their checks to the Manitowoc County Historical Society (MCHS). The funds will go towards various educational programs such as workshops and homeschool activities.

The Volunteer Open House and Luncheon is set for Wednesday, April 16, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants will learn about volunteer opportunities and celebrate existing volunteers at the museum. Attendees are encouraged to register in advance.

Community members interested in crafts can attend the Community Craft Night on Thursday, April 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. This event is free and encourages participants to bring and work on their crafts while engaging with fellow artisans.

A Spring Clean Up is planned for Tuesday, April 22, and Wednesday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers can help clean the museum and prepare the buildings for spring, with snacks and beverages provided.

"Our Wisconsin Experience" offers both a field trip and a public program on Thursday, April 24, and Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Attendees will interact with costumed interpreters and learn about immigrant traditions and historical trades. Registration is required for the field trip.

Scout Day will be held on Saturday, April 26, with two sessions for workshops on blacksmithing, fiber arts, and other skills. Advanced registration is necessary.

On the same day, a Kolache Workshop from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. will teach participants to make the dough and filling for this traditional treat. Registration and a fee are required.

The Manitowoc County Historical Society is an interpretative museum featuring Pinecrest Historical Village and over 25 historic buildings. Founded with a land donation in 1970, it aims to represent a small Wisconsin community from the early 1900s.
