Scholarships awarded to Lakeshore College apprentices by Ascendium Education Group

Forty-one apprenticeship students from Lakeshore College have received $2,000 scholarships each from Ascendium Education Group. The scholarships are part of the Tools of the Trade program, which has been supporting students across the Wisconsin Technical College System for 12 years.

Apprenticeships at Lakeshore College combine hands-on training with classroom learning, covering a range of skilled occupations over two to five years. Upon completion, apprentices in industrial sectors can expect to earn a median annual salary of $84,240, according to the latest Wisconsin Technical College System Apprenticeship Completion Report.

Ascendium is a nonprofit organization based in Madison that focuses on making post-secondary education accessible for more individuals. "We fund initiatives across the U.S. that help learners from low-income backgrounds achieve upward mobility," says Ascendium's mission statement.

- Mishicot: Caleb Zinn

- Plymouth: Mason Arndt, Timothy Gamerdinger, Joshua Braddy, Johnny Hang

- Reedsville: Gerald Scharenbroch
