Manitowoc Public Library announces diverse programming events for March

Manitowoc Public Library is set to host a series of events in March 2025, focusing on community engagement and learning opportunities. The schedule includes various activities catering to different interests.

The month kicks off with the "5th Annual Lakeshore Seed Swap" on Saturday, March 1, from 9 AM to noon. Participants can exchange seeds at no cost in the Balkansky Community Room. There is no requirement to bring seeds to participate, but donations are appreciated.

On Wednesday, March 5, from 6 PM to 7:30 PM, the library will hold a "Drop-In Chess Club" session for individuals aged six and older. While formal instruction will not be provided, chessboards and library materials will be available for those interested in improving their skills.

The "Beat the Winter Blues Friends of Manitowoc Public Library Pop-Up Book Sale" runs from Monday, March 10 through Saturday, March 15 during regular library hours. Most items are priced at $1, including books and CDs. Proceeds support library programs.

"Open Sew and Badging with Betty" takes place on Monday, March 10 from 2 PM to 3 PM. Betty will assist attendees with sewing projects and provide badging for machine use. The event is open to individuals aged 13 and older without prior registration.

For writers seeking inspiration or community, "Space to Write" sessions are scheduled for Tuesday evenings on March 11 and March 25 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM in the Franklin Street Room.

The "Teen Hang-Out: ArtLab—Origami!" event invites participants on Thursday, March 13 from 6 PM to 7:30 PM for an interactive origami workshop where supplies and snacks will be provided.

"MPL Insider: Beyond the Books with Tim & Emily," happening on Thursday, March 20 at noon, features discussions about upcoming library events with MPL Management Team members Karin Adams and Karen Hansen.

A session titled "Learn About Libby: The Online Reading App" is scheduled for Monday, March 24 from 10 AM to 11:30 AM. Attendees will receive a demonstration of the app along with hands-on assistance for downloading and navigating it.

Each event aims to foster community involvement while providing educational resources for all ages.
