The Lakeshore College Foundation has announced that it awarded $268,000 in scholarships to students for the spring semester. This brings the total awards for the 2024-25 academic year to $577,000, marking an 81% increase over the previous year.
Kristy Liphart, Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Lakeshore College and overseer of the foundation, expressed her enthusiasm about this development. "We were very excited and proud to award scholarships to 636 students this academic year," she stated. Liphart attributed this increase in support to three new full-tuition scholarships introduced for the 2024-25 year: the Kohler Foundation Advantage, Richard F. Brindza Memorial, and Adam Steel Fund.
Lakeshore College is a comprehensive community and technical college with more than 9,000 students enrolled annually. It offers education aimed at mastering employable career skills and pursuing bachelor’s degrees. The college prides itself on providing individualized learning experiences.
The institution is nationally recognized as a top two-year college with rankings from Washington Monthly (#2), Forbes (#17), WalletHub.com (#20), and recognition from the Aspen Institute as a top-150 two-year college. It also won a Bellwether Award in 2024 and was named Large Business/Industry of the Year by the Chamber of Manitowoc County in 2021.
Lakeshore College graduates approximately 800 students each year. Those who earn associate degrees report a median salary of $55,698 within six months post-graduation. In addition to its Cleveland campus, Lakeshore operates learning campuses in downtown Manitowoc and Sheboygan.
