Registration is now open for the Manitowoc County Historical Society's annual Scout Day, set to take place at Pinecrest Village in Manitowoc on Saturday, April 26. The event will feature two sessions: a morning session from 9 am to noon and an afternoon session from 1 to 4 pm. Participants must register in advance due to limited space.

Scout Day offers programming that typically fulfills badge requirements, although additional activities may be necessary. The class options include:

- Boy Scout Metalworking Merit Badge: Scouts will learn basic smithing skills such as forging and annealing while creating projects like a spatula and steak flipper. This class has a maximum of six students per session.

- Textile Artist - Senior Girl Scout Badge: Participants will explore textile arts by meeting artists and creating a project inspired by their interests. This class also accommodates up to six students per session.

- Social Butterfly and Playing the Past - Junior Girl Scout/Cub Scout: Attendees will practice good manners in social settings, enhancing their confidence and ease. This class can host up to 20 students per session.

For further details about Scout Day or other programs, interested parties can contact the Historical Society at (920) 684-4445 or visit ManitowocCountyHistory.org.

The Manitowoc County Historical Society is located in Eastern Wisconsin's Ice Age Kettle Moraine countryside. It operates as a living history museum with over 25 historic buildings furnished with period items from early settlers of Manitowoc County. Pinecrest Historical Village began in 1970 through a land donation from the Hugo and Eleanor Vetting family, representing a small Wisconsin community from the early 1900s.
