The Family Resource Center of Sheboygan County is set to host its second annual Spelling Bee Fundraiser on April 3, 2025, at the Blue Harbor Resort. The event aims to support the center's literacy and family programs through a fun and competitive spelling bee.
The Family Resource Center (FRC) operates several initiatives in Sheboygan County, including the Literacy Council, Workplace Literacy, and Parents as Teachers. These programs focus on empowering families and promoting literacy within the community.
The evening will begin with networking and cocktails at 4:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 5:30 p.m., with the spelling bee starting at 6:00 p.m. Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting FRC's essential programs.
Last year's winner was Mead Public Library. This year, teams of two adults, along with one alternate adult, will compete in a Scripps-style spelling bee. Participants will tackle increasingly challenging words until a winner is crowned as the Corporate Spelling Bee Champion.
Those unable to participate can still contribute by sponsoring a table or team, purchasing dinner tickets, or donating items for the silent auction. More information about registration and sponsorship opportunities is available for those interested in supporting this cause.
