Elkhart Lake Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on June 14.
Prost! Elkhart Lake is excited to announce a new event weekend that will be happening this Fall. The first annual “Elktoberfest” will be held the weekend of September 23 – 25, 2022. Put on your lederhosen or dirndl, hoist a stein, grab a pretzel, and embrace the German heritage in Sheboygan County.
“We look forward to hosting this family friendly event during such a beautiful time of year in Elkhart Lake. We are very fortunate to have been awarded a Travel Wisconsin JEM Grant to help with our marketing efforts for this first-time event.” said Executive Director of Elkhart Lake Tourism Kathleen Eickhoff.
The weekend will kick off with a stein social and community prost featuring beer from Elkhart Lake’s brewery, SwitchGear Brewing Company. Live music will be featured throughout the village during the weekend. Saturday brings a day full of fall activities for the entire family – 5K Wine & Beer Run/Walk, traditional Oktoberfest games for adults, a Root Beer Garten and various children’s activities, and SwitchGear Brewing Company’s annual party and festivities. The weekend closes with a fall community breakfast on Sunday morning.
