Manitowoc Public Library has announced its schedule of adult events for July 2025, offering a range of activities and programs designed to engage the community.
The Summer Reading Program 2025 runs through Saturday, August 9. Participants can earn weekly prizes by reading, with registration available on the Beanstack App or at any Service Desk. "Read or be read to a total of 30 days to complete the program," states the library's announcement.
On Tuesdays throughout July, from 9 AM to 4 PM, staff from the Department of Workforce Development will provide employment assistance in MPL’s Franklin Street Room. Services include resume writing and help with online applications. No appointment is necessary.
Genealogy enthusiasts can find support from members of the Manitowoc County Genealogical Society every Tuesday in July from 3-5 PM at MPL’s Manitowoc Collection.
A Drop-In Chess Club session will take place on Wednesday, July 2, from 6-7:30 PM in the Second Floor Balkansky Community Room. The club is open to all ages and abilities but does not offer formal instruction.
On Wednesday, July 9, from 2-3 PM, award-winning musician Jim Gill will host a Sing-Along & Play-Along Concert at Burger Boat Park. In case of bad weather, the concert will move indoors to MPL's Balkansky Community Room.
The University of Wisconsin-Extension’s FoodWIse program will offer free blood pressure screenings on Thursday, July 10, from Noon until 3 PM in the Library’s Inner Lobby.
Glowforge Badging Sessions are scheduled for Friday, July 11 (2-3:30 PM), and Tuesday, July 15 (5:30-7 PM). Participants must register online as space is limited.
"Touch the Trucks!" returns on Wednesday, July 16, from 10 AM to Noon in Briess Malting Parking Lot. The event allows children and adults alike to explore various trucks up close.
A demonstration of Prusa CORE One's new model will occur during a 3D Printer Badging Session on Wednesday, July 16 (5:30-7 PM). Registration opens on July 7 at www.manitowoclibrary.org/event/3d-printer-badging-session-24270.
An Adult Book Discussion featuring "Lula Dean’s Little Library of Banned Books" by Kirsten Miller is set for Thursday, July 17 (6-7 PM).
Tie Dye Tuesday! takes place on Tuesday, July 22 (1-3 PM), allowing participants to create unique fabric designs without prior registration required.
Brew ‘N Bee V: Unleash the Hive! happens on Wednesday, July 23 (6-8 PM) at PetSkull Brewing Co., LLC's outdoor Beer Garden. A $20 participation fee applies with proceeds benefiting Friends of Manitowoc Public Library. Registration is mandatory for this adults-only event.
Finally, a Cricut Badging Session occurs on Tuesday, July 29 (5:30-7 PM) in Idea Box makerspace. Participants need to register as space is limited and they must be over eighteen years old.
