National Travel and Tourism Week highlights the travel industry's role in economic growth and job creation. Visit Manitowoc participates annually, recognizing the industry's impact on the local economy, businesses, and community.
This year's National Travel and Tourism Week runs from May 4 to May 10. Local celebrations began at an April Common Council meeting where Mayor Justin Nickels declared May 4 to May 10 as National Travel and Tourism Week in Manitowoc. Visit Manitowoc will host its annual Travel and Tourism Week breakfast at The Inn on Maritime Bay with area tourism partners on Wednesday, May 7. At this event, Director of Tourism Courtney Hansen will discuss recent projects, upcoming initiatives, and ways for local businesses to collaborate in marketing Manitowoc as a premier destination.
“We take a moment to celebrate our thriving local tourism industry each year on the cusp of the busy travel season. The Visit Manitowoc team is excited to soon welcome an influx of visitors to the lakeshore to experience can’t-miss summer events, relaxing beaches and our many unique offerings,” said Courtney Hansen. “We also give a special thanks to the many front-line tourism employees gearing up for an exciting summer. These employees staff our hotels, attractions and restaurants, serving as the face of Manitowoc to many visitors they encounter.”
