The Manitowoc County Historical Society is located in Eastern Wisconsin's Ice Age Kettle Moraine countryside. As a living history museum spanning 60 acres, it features a Welcome Center that houses local history exhibits and research services, alongside Pinecrest Historical Village. This village showcases over 25 historic buildings furnished with original pieces or accurately researched replicas from Manitowoc County's early history.
Established in 1970 due to a land donation by the Hugo and Eleanor Vetting family, Pinecrest Village has evolved into a re-creation of a small Wisconsin community from the early 1900s. It includes buildings that form the commercial, social, and political heart of a town, reflecting various architectural styles from Wisconsin's past.
