The Sheboygan Theatre Company (STC), celebrating its 91st season, has announced that its Studio Players will present "110 Stories," a play written by Sarah Tuft. The production will be directed by Randy Stache and is set to run from April 24 to 27 at 608 New York Ave in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
"This show represents what theater does best – giving voice to human experiences that might otherwise remain untold," said Tricia Roberts, Executive Director of STC. "The production invites our audience to reconnect with the profound humanity behind a national tragedy through intimate, personal testimonies. We're honored to present this important work that reminds us of both our vulnerability and our remarkable capacity for compassion and resilience in the face of unimaginable circumstances."
The play "110 Stories" offers a moment-by-moment narrative of the events of 9/11 as recounted by eyewitnesses, survivors, and rescue workers. The characters in the play include diverse individuals like a photojournalist, a mother, an ironworker, and a homeless man who contributed to the rescue efforts on that day. The play aims to memorialize September 11th by focusing on the human stories rather than political narratives.
Director Randy Stache emphasized the importance of retelling the events with appropriate historical gravity. "I think it’s very important to retell this piece of history with the historical weight it deserves. I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing on that day and watched as everything unfolded on TV, as it happened," Stache stated. He added, "That day changed History! Not just for the United States of America, but for the entire world ... I look forward to you enjoying the show with Fervent Remembrance."
Randy Stache's connection with STC began in 1996 with his debut in the production of "Done to Death." This is his second experience directing for the Studio Players, following "Hand to God" in 2018. Stache is actively involved in STC, serving on its Advisory Committee and chairing its Volunteerism Committee. He expressed gratitude to his wife Debra for her support throughout their 26 years together.
Tickets for the show can be purchased by calling 920-459-3773.
The STC Studio Players group, established in 2012, offers productions that are distinctively different from the main stage presentations of the Sheboygan Theatre Company. The group features a variety of content that encourages thoughtful reflection and entertainment. It welcomes both seasoned and new participants in acting, directing, and producing roles.
The Sheboygan Theatre Company, a community theater founded in 1934, provides a multi-generational theatrical experience for Sheboygan and the surrounding areas. It is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization that produces at least four main stage shows annually at the Leslie W. Johnson Theatre.
