The Manitowoc County Historical Society is partnering with Cousins Subs to raise funds and awareness for local history education. The event will take place at Cousins Subs' location at 4530 Calumet Ave, Manitowoc, Wisconsin, on Thursday, April 10, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Proceeds from the event are intended to support the Manitowoc County Historical Society in its operational and educational endeavors. The Society, a private non-profit entity, relies entirely on membership dues, tours, fundraising events, and donations for its funding. The money raised during the fundraiser will help the museum acquire supplies for its education programs, including materials for the blacksmith shop and other historic trades.

The Manitowoc County Historical Society, situated in the scenic Ice Age Kettle Moraine region of Eastern Wisconsin, operates as a living history museum across a 60-acre site. The Society features a Welcome Center with exhibits and research services, as well as the Pinecrest Historical Village, which includes over 25 historic buildings with period furnishings reflecting the lives of Manitowoc County's early settlers.
Pinecrest Historical Village was established in 1970, thanks to a land donation from the Hugo and Eleanor Vetting family. The Village serves as a facsimile of a small Wisconsin community from the early 1900s, with its buildings representing the commercial, social, and political centers of a town, showcasing various architectural styles from Wisconsin's past. The furnishings and tools within these buildings are either authentic pieces or meticulously recreated to ensure historical accuracy.
