The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Cold Warning effective from midnight through noon on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. The warning predicts wind chills between 30 and 35 degrees below zero for Tuesday morning.
As a precaution, all Cedar Grove-Belgium schools and Rocket Academy will remain closed on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. This decision aims to ensure the safety of students and staff during the severe weather conditions.
Regarding extracurricular activities, events scheduled for Monday night will proceed as planned. Both the pool and fitness center will be operational. However, on Tuesday, middle school sports are canceled and both facilities will be closed. High school sports activities will continue as scheduled once the cold warning concludes.
The community is advised to stay safe and warm during this period of extreme cold.
