Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah School District recently issued the following announcement.
We wish to share with you that our Elementary, Middle, and High School students will be participating in a SAFETY DRILL Next Tuesday, October 12th – The times of the drills will be: Middle School @ 8:00am; High School @ 10:00am; and Elementary School @ 1:30 p.m.
*The Middle School drill is scheduled at 8:00 am to ensure its completion before the arrival of the elementary students.
The goal of the safety drill is to help our students feel safe at school. The practice drill will include age-appropriate classroom discussions and talking points about what to do should an emergency arise. The drill will be slightly different than in previous years. As a result of following our COVID-related protocols that are in place, the drill will be more discussion-based regarding various scenarios, then actually practicing procedures such as sheltering in a corner. Follow-up discussions will occur with staff/students after the drill is completed to answer questions, address concerns, and make any needed plan modifications. School Resource Officer Niemi will be assisting the administration with the safety drills.
