Senator Eric Wimberger, a Republican representing Wisconsin's 2nd Senate district since 2025, has recently addressed both the state's dairy industry and education standards in a series of posts on his social media account.

On September 25, 2025, Wimberger highlighted his recognition by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association: "Proud to be named a Cheese Champion by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association. I'm always happy to support Wisconsin's dairy industry!" This acknowledgment underscores Wimberger's ongoing support for one of Wisconsin’s key agricultural sectors.

The following day, Wimberger turned his attention to state education policy. In a post dated September 26, he commented on State Superintendent Underly’s recent address: "When State Superintendent Underly delivered her State of Education address last week, she failed to address how her decision to lower statewide academic standards hides Wisconsin's literacy crisis, and keeps parents in the dark."

In a subsequent post on the same day, Wimberger explained actions he has taken regarding these concerns: "That's why I ordered an audit this spring to get to the bottom of how and why Superintendent Underly changed these academic standards to ensure this never happens again."

Wimberger was elected in 2025 after succeeding Robert Cowles as senator for Wisconsin’s 2nd Senate district. As a member of the Republican Party, he has been vocal about supporting local industries and increasing transparency in state educational policies.
