Senator Eric Wimberger, who represents Wisconsin's 2nd Senate district, recently used his social media platform to highlight local education milestones and legislative action in early September 2025.

On September 2, Wimberger posted a message to mark the start of the academic year for students in Northeast Wisconsin: "Happy First Day of School, Northeast Wisconsin! Have a great school year!"

A day later, on September 3, he addressed the topic of technology use in schools. Wimberger wrote: "Students are better learners when distractions like smartphones aren't present in the classroom. Great to see Kaukauna Schools lead on this issue for Northeast Wisconsin and support our kids' growth."

On September 4, Wimberger shared news about his role in advancing legislation targeting online sexual exploitation. He stated: "I was proud to vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee today to advance a new bill that cracks down on sexual extortion crimes. Senate Bill 222 creates harsh penalties for anyone convicted of sexually exploiting a victim for money online. Just this year, a 15-year-old here in"

Senator Wimberger was elected as a Republican to represent Wisconsin's 2nd Senate district beginning in 2025, succeeding Robert Cowles.
