Victoria Champion, a strategic audit executive with 25 years of experience in financial integrity and risk management, has been elected to a four-year term on the Lakeland University Board of Trustees. Champion currently serves as vice president, internal audit (chief audit executive) at Kohler Co., where she has held various audit roles since 2009.
Her previous professional experience includes positions in the United Kingdom at organizations such as Bank of Ireland, PricewaterhouseCoopers, ScottishPower, and National Australia Bank. In these roles, she worked in both audit and financial analyst capacities.
Lakeland University President Beth Borgen commented on Champion’s appointment: “As higher education continues to face challenging headwinds, Victoria’s experience in finance and risk assessment, as well as international relations, will be a great addition to our board.”
Champion is recognized for her ability to advise boards on commercial risk assessment, regulatory compliance, and enterprise-wide mitigation strategies. She is also known for fostering strong stakeholder relationships and using data-driven insights for decision making. Her educational background includes an undergraduate degree in economics and politics from the University of Edinburgh and a master’s degree in financial management from the University of West of England.
