Senator Eric Wimberger, who represents Wisconsin's 2nd Senate district, has recently posted a series of tweets recognizing military service and local events. Wimberger, a Republican elected in 2025 to succeed Robert Cowles, used his social media platform to commemorate Purple Heart Day, honor a fallen World War II soldier, and support the Green Bay Packers.

On August 7, 2025, Senator Wimberger acknowledged the significance of Purple Heart Day by stating: "Today is Purple Heart Day, where we pause to commemorate the sacrifices of our veterans who were wounded or killed while serving our nation. Thank you to all our veterans for protecting our freedom!"

The following day, August 8, he highlighted the return and burial of a local servicemember lost at Pearl Harbor: "A local military hero will finally be laid to rest in Shawano after being killed during the attack on Pearl Harbor. Welcome home, Private McLaughlin."

On August 9, Wimberger shifted focus to sports with a message supporting the Green Bay Packers as they prepared for their preseason game against the New York Jets: "Best of luck to the Packers tonight in their first preseason game against the Jets! Go Pack Go!"

Senator Wimberger assumed office in 2025 after winning election to represent Wisconsin's 2nd Senate district. He succeeded Robert Cowles in this role.
