Senator Eric Wimberger, a Republican representing Wisconsin's 2nd Senate district since 2025, recently used his Twitter account to highlight aspects of the state's new budget and comment on local policy issues.
On July 28, 2025, Wimberger wrote about the tax relief measures in the state’s latest financial plan. He stated, "Wisconsin's new State Budget contains $1.5 billion in tax relief. This includes the second-largest income tax cut in state history, as well as expanded support for our middle-class families and seniors. Lower taxes means more of your money stays in your pocket, and keeps".
The following day, July 29, Wimberger turned attention to agricultural investments included in the budget. He posted, "Wisconsin wouldn't be America's Dairyland without the hard work of our dairy farmers and processors, and our new State Budget makes critical investments supporting our dairy industry. On July 30, Wimberger commented on local immigration enforcement policies following a fatal incident involving an undocumented immigrant. He said, "Dane County's sanctuary policies kept a repeat offender illegal alien on the streets who killed two teenagers while drunk driving. This tragedy should have never happened, and wouldn't have if immigration laws were enforced. My sympathies go out to Hallie and Brady's families at".
Wimberger assumed office after being elected in 2025 to succeed Robert Cowles as state senator for Wisconsin’s 2nd district.
