The society's museum is situated in Eastern Wisconsin's Ice Age Kettle Moraine countryside and covers an area of 60 acres. It includes a Welcome Center with local history exhibits and research services, as well as the outdoor Pinecrest Historical Village. This village consists of over 25 historic buildings furnished in period style, representing early settlers of Manitowoc County.
Pinecrest Historical Village began its development in 1970 after receiving land from the Hugo and Eleanor Vetting family. It has since grown into a representation of a small Wisconsin community from the early 1900s, complete with commercial, social, and political structures that showcase various architectural styles from Wisconsin's history.
