The Manitowoc County Historical Society is situated in Eastern Wisconsin's Ice Age Kettle Moraine countryside. It features a Welcome Center with local history exhibits and research services alongside the outdoor Pinecrest Historical Village—a collection of over twenty-five historic buildings with furnishings reflective of early settlers' lives.
Pinecrest Historical Village began in 1970 through a land donation by Hugo and Eleanor Vetting's family and has since evolved into a representation of an early twentieth-century Wisconsin community.
