The Lakeshore Wind Ensemble Association has announced that the Holy Family Conservatory of Music will receive the Wesley Teply Community Service Award in the Arts. This recognition is for their century-long contribution to the arts. The award ceremony will take place during the "Winds of March: The Best of the Best" concert on March 1 at the Capitol Civic Centre. Sister Carol Ann Gambsky and Dr. Stanislava Varshavski will accept the award on behalf of the organization.

Founded by the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, the Holy Family Conservatory of Music will celebrate its 100th anniversary on December 10, 2025. It was established in September 1925 when Sisters Davidica Beschta, Benjamin Eriksen, and Celerine Diekemper were tasked with fostering musical interest among students at Saint Boniface Convent. Due to high demand for music lessons, they relocated to a new building in downtown Manitowoc.

Initially offering instruction in music, painting, and dance, over 13,000 students aged from three to over eighty have studied various instruments at the Conservatory. Currently located at 6751 Calumet Avenue since August 2013, it continues to offer programs such as Music for Tots and Children’s Choir along with summer music camps.

The Conservatory hosts numerous events annually including student recitals and art exhibits. It serves as a platform for nurturing appreciation for music and arts within Manitowoc County.
