The American Association of Community Colleges has announced finalists for its 2023 Awards of Excellence. Lakeshore Technical College’s Vice President of Strategy Shauna Nischik is among four finalists for the Rising Star – Executive award.

“Shauna has demonstrated extraordinary leadership throughout the five years she has worked at Lakeshore Technical College. Her successful creation of our Grants Council has significantly elevated our ability to fund, implement, and scale new initiatives that benefit our students and community,” said Lakeshore President Dr. Paul Carlsen.

Nischik was promoted to her current role on Lakeshore’s leadership team in December after serving as the college’s executive director of grants since 2021. Prior to that time, she filled the roles of senior grants coordinator and grants and research specialist. Nischik joined Lakeshore in 2017.

Award winners will be announced April 3 in Denver at the AACC Awards of Excellence Gala.
