Senator Eric Wimberger, who represents Wisconsin's 30th Senate District, posted a series of statements on social media between July 17 and July 19, 2025, addressing recent developments in Northeast Wisconsin.
On July 17, Wimberger highlighted the region's exposure during a major sporting event: "The 2025 NFL Draft showed Northeast Wisconsin off to the world, and the community showed up to make Green Bay the center of the sports world. Great to see these numbers demonstrating the Draft's impact."
The following day, Wimberger announced funding for a significant infrastructure project. On July 18 he wrote: "The Port of Green Bay's expansion will be fully funded with funds @RepBenFranklin and I secured in our new State Budget. This once-in-a-generation project will open up the region to new economic development, and strengthen Northeast Wisconsin's ties to the global supply chain." The Port of Green Bay is an important commercial hub for northeastern Wisconsin and its expansion is expected to boost regional economic growth by improving shipping capacity and connecting local businesses more efficiently with international markets.
On July 19, Wimberger commented on a judicial decision affecting state governance: "A recent decision by the Wisconsin Supreme Court gives unelected bureaucrats unprecedented power to write administrative rules without legislative oversight. Governor Evers has only begun to test how far our far-left Supreme Court will let his big government agenda go." The ruling referenced by Wimberger pertains to administrative rulemaking authority in Wisconsin, shifting certain regulatory powers from elected legislators to state agencies.
Senator Wimberger has served as a Republican member of the Wisconsin State Senate since January 2021. His district includes parts of Green Bay and surrounding areas.
