Shade Tree Program

PLANT A TREE, GET SOME GREEN

The City of Two Rivers has expanded the Shade Tree Program offered by the Two Rivers Electric Department & WPPI Energy! This new grant program encourages tree planting on private properties. Local property owners can qualify for grants the cover two-thirds of the cost of a new tree (maximum grant of $100 per tree) up to three trees.  There is a $10,000 budget for this program and funding is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Shade trees planted on the south or west side of your home or business can help reduce air conditioning costs in summer and allow warm sunlight into the home during the winter.  Trees also provide many other benefits including cleaning the air, absorbing excess water from storm events and Spring snowmelt, providing habitats for songbirds and other animals, and buffering traffic noise.

Step 1: Get Pre-qualified! (Deadline Monday, May 1, 2023 at 4:30pm)

Click here to fill out an application.  Once the application is completed, you can email it to customerservice@two-rivers.org, mail it to Two Rivers Utilities, 1415 Lake Street, Two Rivers, WI 54241, or drop it off at the Customer Service Desk at City Hall (1717 E. Park Street). Upon approval, you will receive a letter via email for online submissions or via U.S. mail for paper applications. The letter will include a rebate form & instructions on the conditions that must be met to qualify for reimbursement. Do not purchase or plant any trees until you have received notification from the City confirming you have been approved.

Step 2: Purchase your trees & plant them!

Trees must be planted and the City must receive your completed rebate form along with your original sales receipt(s) or paid invoice(s) no later than Friday, June 16, 2023 at 4:30pm

Step 3: File to receive your rebate!

Complete the rebate form; attach original sales receipt(s) or paid invoices(s).

Mail the rebate forms and receipts to Two Rivers Utilities, 1415 Lake Street, Two Rivers WI 54241

or deliver at the Customer Service Office at City Hall
