Citizen Science at MPL Kick-Off: Nurdle Patrol
Nurdles are plastic pellets left over from the manufacturing of plastic products and they are showing up on our shorelines. Join us on Monday, August 15, from 2-3 PM by Manitowoc Public Library’s First Floor Main Service Desk for the kick-off of a new year-long program called “Nurdle Patrol”. Learn how to identify nurdles, record your search area, number of nurdles found, and how to share this information with scientists who are studying these plastic pellets. UWGB-Manitowoc Campus Professor Amy Kabrhel will help us understand nurdles and get us started on looking for them in the Manitowoc area. Look for more programs on nurdles in the next few months! Please note that children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
