Above & Beyond Children’s Museum Hosts Free Outdoor Event and Brat Fry Fundraiser
for the All-Abilities Purple Octopus Playground, September 18
WHAT: An outdoor celebration in support of the Purple Octopus Playground is set for Saturday, September 18 at the Above & Beyond Children’s Museum. A fundraising goal of $500,000 has been set in hopes to open the playground in Spring 2022. The event is free and open to the public. Miesfeld’s Triangle Market of Sheboygan is donating brats, burgers and macaroni and cheese available for purchase for $2 each and Sweet Escapes Ice Cream Truck will donate 50% of sales to the playground project. Fun activities for kids of all ages include octopus-themed face painting and sun catcher craft.

BACKGROUNDER - THE PURPLE OCTOPUS PROJECT: The event is hosted in timing with the launch of a fundraising campaign for the Purple Octopus Playground Project. As Above & Beyond Children's Museum continues to grow, the organization continues to assess how to bring our play spaces out into the wider community. The Children’s Museum is working to install a fully ADA-accessible public outdoor playground called the Purple Octopus Playground in the outdoor green space. The playground affords the opportunity to build something that is as beautiful as it is fun to play on. An outdoor exhibit that children of all backgrounds and abilities will have the opportunity to interact with. The All-Abilities Purple Octopus Playground is coming Spring 2022!
