The Manitowoc County Historical Society will open its doors to potential volunteers with an Open House and Luncheon on April 16. The event, scheduled to run from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, is part of the National Volunteer Week celebrations.

Attendees will have the opportunity to explore volunteer roles within the organization, ranging from youth and public education programs to archives data entry and guest services. The occasion will also serve as an acknowledgement of the existing volunteer team members who have contributed to enhancing the museum’s mission.

In addition to the luncheon and guest speakers, those present can tour the museum grounds and the historic structures aligned with National Volunteer Week celebrations. Interested individuals are encouraged to RSVP by contacting the Historical Society’s Engagement Manager at (920) 684-4445 or via guestservices@manitowoccountyhistory.org. For those unable to attend, the Historical Society offers the option to connect with a team member.

The Manitowoc County Historical Society, a museum of living history, is located in Eastern Wisconsin’s picturesque Ice Age Kettle Moraine countryside. Covering 60 acres, it features a Welcome Center with local history exhibits, research services, and the Pinecrest Historical Village. This village, which began in 1970 with a donation from the Hugo and Eleanor Vetting family, represents a small Wisconsin community of the early 1900s, complete with over 25 historic buildings and period furnishings.
