The Plumbers & Steamfitters UA Local 400 union has contributed $25,000 to the Lakeshore College Foundation. This donation will establish a scholarship fund aimed at supporting students pursuing careers in welding and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC).

Lakeshore College President Dr. Paul Carlsen expressed gratitude for the union’s contribution, stating, “We appreciate the ongoing commitment the Plumbers & Steamfitters UA Local 400 union has to workforce development. This new scholarship fund will directly reduce financial barriers for students and make it easier for more individuals to pursue careers in welding and HVAC, both of which are high-demand fields.”

Eligible students enrolled in HVAC installation, welding fabrication, and industrial welding programs can apply for these scholarships through the AwardSpring app available in their student portal. The programs follow Lakeshore’s competency-based education format, allowing flexible start dates and completion within two terms.

Dustin Delsman presented a $25,000 check to Dr. Paul Carlsen on behalf of Plumbers & Steamfitters UA Local 400 for this initiative.

Plumbers & Steamfitters UA Local 400 is committed to enhancing the region’s skilled labor force by investing in education and training. This aligns with their mission of community support and economic strength in Northeast Wisconsin.

Lakeshore College educates over 9,000 students annually across its Cleveland campus and other locations. The college is recognized nationally for its educational quality and was ranked highly by various institutions including Washington Monthly and Forbes.
